CONTENTS ASTA String Syllabus, Revised 2003 SM 19 $39.95 Developed by string teachers, the ASTA String Syllabus contains over 2,000 evaluated titles of method, study and repertoire pieces for violin, viola, cello, double bass and ensemble. An excellent resource for teachers or students. Thanks to Gregory Hurley, Editor, and the string teacher committee, string players have the invaluable, and now revised, resource from ASTA that categorizes, by technical requirements, much of the standard string literature available today. Shar is proud to offer this publication to string players, and values ASTA's dedication and devotion to this colossal project. We thank the American String Teachers Association for permission to use their material to help you locate the music listed in the Syllabus. Many of the titles in the ASTA String Syllabus are denoted in this catalog using symbols corresponding to the grades below. Some overlap of ASTA grades exists due to difficulty pinpointing exact categorization. We have recognized these overlaps by denoting the multiple ASTA grade levels given. Please note the following grade descriptions are general descriptions of what is noted in the ASTA String Syllabus. The ASTA String Syllabus provides complete technical descriptions for each grade along with an extensive list of evaluated titles. If you should have trouble locating music listed in the String Syllabus, please contact us. Look for the numerical symbol in front of each graded music title that corresponds to the grade level of the piece. Below is an explanation of how each is defined.
